Safeguarding & Respect Policy
This statement was last updated on 4th October 2025
At Nail It DIY, our workshops are designed to be safe, welcoming and empowering spaces for women to learn practical skills with confidence.
1. Respect & Inclusivity
• We ask all participants to treat one another with respect at all times.
• Discrimination, harassment or intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated.
• First names only are used during sessions unless participants choose to share more.
2. Privacy & Personal Information
• We only collect the personal details needed to manage bookings and communication (e.g. name and email address).
• Personal details will never be shared with third parties.
• Participants are never required to share personal information during a session.
3. Photography & Social Media
• We may take photos during workshops to help promote our sessions.
• Participants will always be asked for consent in advance and may opt out at any time.
• Where consent is not given, no identifying images will be used. We may instead use photos of hands-on activities, tools, or finished projects.
• Faces can be blurred or cropped out on request.
4. Safe Learning Environment
• All workshops are run by at least two facilitators.
• Sessions are delivered in accessible, community-based venues (never private homes).
• Safety briefings are included at the start of every workshop.
• All tools and materials are used under supervision, with clear guidance on safe practice.
• Nail It DIY holds full Public Liability Insurance for all workshops and activities.
5. Raising Concerns
• If a participant ever feels uncomfortable or unsafe, they are encouraged to speak privately to one of the facilitators.
• Any concerns will be taken seriously and addressed immediately.
